It was a time for celebration. And what better way to celebrate than by lifting a small child into the air like a human Stanley Cup?

Pat Iversen of SB Nation capped this hilarious scene as Josh Bailey scored an empty-netter to put away the Jets. And this is why they play afternoon games on holidays: So children can attend, be gorilla pressed into the air during goal celebrations.
But who are we to criticize how one chooses to raise their child?

If you think that was awkward, thankfully the camera cut away before the kid was passed around the rest of the section ...
So a weird new tradition begins for Brooklyn hockey. Although, honestly, it’s been over three decades, so it’s entirely possible this Islanders fan went for a replica Cup and simply forgot what it looks like.
